We partnered with Hong Kong F&B group JIA Group Ltd to design the brand communications of their first Thai restaurant in Singapore, Kha. Conceived as a chic authentic Thai dining concept, the food inspiration came from the north eastern region of Thailand, Isaan.
The name of the restaurant – KHA, connote tones of sophistication and refinement in the Thai culture. With clean and fluid strokes, we developed the logo-type in a geometry with strong cues to the traditional Sanskrit typography. Fuchsia pink was selected to bring the softer origins back into the corporate identity of the dining concept.
In the abundance of paddy rice fields in North-eastern Thailand, Isaan have a strong craftsmanship of weaving techniques. Researching through the artisanal works, we created a texture plate of weaving patterns from the rice willows. This original texture artwork formed the basis of our graphic visual elements.
We developed the corporate identity and stationary, designed the covers for the menus to their physical and digital marketing collaterals including the restaurant’s website.
