DEFINING THE PRODUCT IDENTITY

We partnered with Israeli mobile power company, Techtium to create a strong product brand identity for their premium line of portable battery chargers. Targeted at business travellers, the group of innovative products included ultra portable Backupower devices that utilizes the rechargeable AA batteries available easily from any convenience shop. Coupling travel needs with power re-charging functionalities, this line of portable battery chargers catered for all mobile power charging needs and specific usage scenarios.

PRODUCT IDENTITY

Our quest: to produce, a vibrant, dynamic and distinctive design language for Techtium’s mobile power chargers, one that would get them, literally, into the pockets of the premium business travellers. We began the process by identifying the next contemporary design trends – linked lines with sliced segmented functional materials. From this visual foundation we developed our simple rules for the product offerings: “Backupower Mini”, the super compact charger that fits comfortably into any pocket sizes; “Backupower Wally”, a matrix of metal extrusion and wall plug integration and “Backupower Wally II (style)”, a slender stylish design that blends with female users and accessories in their handbags.
